It has been 11 weeks that I have been studying the Digital Business Models (BEMM129) through an alternative Virtual Learning Environment. Now, it’s time to reflect and think about the future!
What I have learned from the blog post?
Throughout the course, I have developed my digital literacy by setting up my own blog and writing several reflective posts addressing the digital business models. Besides, I have learnt more digital business insights in many different perspectives by reading and commenting on the blog post produced by other learners, which put me in another level of critical thinking.
The fascinating blog posts that I participated were; the digital revolution of Sephora, John Lewis in the digital and physical spheres, Nike’s digital and physical business, and Airbnb’s innovative home-sharing service thrive in the era of digitisation. These posts were significantly broadened my mind in terms of the theory and success stories of the real-world digital transformation.
When digital transformation is done right, it’s like a caterpillar turning into a butterfly, but when done wrong, all you have is a really fast caterpillar.
George Westerman
I discovered that although most of the companies deal with digitalisation by offering multi-distribution channel, they offer it in different ways. I illustrated these below.

However, those other learners and I agreed that companies still have some challenges in their digital platforms, and the physical store is still needed. Because of the customer’s decision can be driven by Hedonic consumption which relates to brand experiential value. The customer service will create the customer experience in the store which will be able to up-sale customer purchases.
Moreover, the most favourite from my theoretical learning would be ‘Brave the new world’ in week2. As advanced technology like 3D printing, Artificial intelligence(AI), and the Internet of Things have become a part of the business which helps to create new customer experiences. I am exciting in it and wonder about the future of it, how the company will develop these technologies in the future? So, I came up with my third blog.
Apart from those perspectives I learned directly from other posts, my digital literacy I have developed are as follows;

What I will take forward from the module?
The following video demonstrates my future plan.
Finally, this module broadened my view. I have got a lot of information, meaningful discussions, and fun.
Thank You!!
